Kelsey Wood-Biros, G.I.T., a Scientist III for ARRO, was recently certified as a Forestry Professional through Maryland’s Department of Natural Resources. Working out of ARRO’s Frederick office, she explained that as an environmental geologist, she is extremely excited to be able to help protect forests and critical habitats.“The Maryland Conservation Act has certain forest conservation, reforestation, and afforestation requirements for land development projects,” she explained. “With this qualification, I am now able to perform the required studies of existing forest composition, and make recommendations for priority conservation areas and methods of reforestation and afforestation. I can also provide plans of tree protection during construction, and create planting plans.”Next, Kelsey aspires to acquire her Certified Wetland Delineator (CWD) and Professional Geologist (P.G.) credentials. “I am so very grateful for the opportunities ARRO has provided me to grow in my career!”
