Congratulations to Nesquehoning Borough on Major ARC Grant Award

We’re excited to share that our client, Nesquehoning Borough (Carbon County, PA), has been awarded $893,972 in federal funding through the Appalachian Regional Commission’s (ARC) Local Access Road (LAR) program.

This vital investment will fund much-needed upgrades to the 1.38-mile Industrial Road within the Nesquehoning Business Park. The project scope includes roadway reconstruction, culvert replacement, and installation of a train crossing predictor system, all of which will enhance transportation safety, emergency response access, and regional connectivity.

The improvements are expected to drive significant economic development: expanding businesses within the park plan to add 11 new jobs, and the eventual development of the park’s three vacant parcels could lead to the creation of up to 150 additional jobs, helping to drive sustained growth in this region.

With a local match of $89,000 from the Borough, the project’s total investment reaches nearly $1 million —a transformational investment for the community.
