We are pleased to announce the promotion of Nathaniel J. Merkel, L.O., GISP to Assistant Vice President!
First joining ARRO in 2016, Nate has ten years of experience including coordination and management of geographic information system (GIS) projects for mapping of stormwater, water, and wastewater infrastructure, field data collection and ArcGIS mapping of collection/distribution systems, development and updating emergency response plans and operation and maintenance plans, security vulnerability assessments, and completion and submission of WREN source water protection grant applications. He has also worked closely with PA DEP and community water systems throughout the Commonwealth to create and implement source water protection plants. In his new role, Nate will be joining the executive team, in addition to his current role as ARRO’s Frederick Office Manager.
Nate is a certified GIS professional and Water Systems Operator, Class E in Pennsylvania, with a B.S. in Geo-Environmental Science from Shippensburg University. He is a member of the American Water Resources Association (PA Chapter), and has been an active presenter at technical conferences on GIS, stormwater, and water quality throughout PA and MD.
